Medicaid Transportation Services

  • Medicaid covers non-emergency transportation services for Medicaid eligible recipients who have no other means of transportation available to Medicaid covered services.

  • Medicaid also covers medically necessary emergency ground or air ambulance transportation. Some limits apply.

  • If you are enrolled in a health plan, call your plan to find out the name and telephone number for your transportation provider if you need a ride to a doctor’s office or clinic.

  • If you are not enrolled in a health plan, call the Medicaid Helpline at 1-877-254-1055 to find out the name and telephone number for your transportation provider.

  • The Sunshine Line provides door-to-door transportation for elderly, people with disabilities, or low-income residents who do not have, or can’t afford their own transportation.

  • Transportation is provided for medical and social service appointments, grocery trips, health and wellness, personal business and more.

  • Trips are prioritized based on trip purpose and provided on a space-available basis.

  • If you are able to ride HART, you may qualify for a daily or monthly bus pass.

Eligibility:

  • Travel within 3/4 of a mile from a HART bus route
